PROGETTO DI FORMAZIONE ALLA “MARANATHA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY (MCU) . FINE ART AND DESIGN FACULTY. INDUSTRIAL DESIGN DEPT. BANDUNG . INDONESIA”
The footwear sector of Jawa Barat (West Java) is of relevance in the industrial and manufacturing context in Indonesia, both for the local market and exportation, however, it faces a decline due to competitiveness with Chinese products. The MCU organises design and engineering production courses, in collaboration with entrepreneurs, represented by the national footwear association on site, APRISINDO. PISIE, executive of the technology transfer project, funded by ICE and ASSOMAC, gave assistance to identify the priorities between training subjects to develop; at the same time, it formed MCU trainers on site, in contact with the local production sector. In re-training courses, six MCU experts were involved and ten directors, entrepreneurs of PMIs.
