KOLKATA 2020

EGYPT 2017

ROBBIKI LEATHER CITY   The project, which follows the financial intervention of the first fase of the Debt conversion program, contribute to the development of a new industrial cluster in Robbiki, RLC (Robbiki Leather City), 40km from Cairo, specialised in tanning, introducing production systems and innovative technologies compatible with an eco-friendly approach. It is estimated that tanneries will move to the new location in 2017. From the second half of this current year, it is fundamental that activities of technical assistance and training will help adapting technologies and MEE workers to new requests of environmental impact levels and improve productivity in RLC. Responsible for these activities is Leather Tanning Technology Centre – LTTC, that is present today in MEE and will move to Robbiki in a dedicated space.    Read more…

CHAD 2013

MANUFACTURERS’ CENTRE IN N’DJAMENA   This project was designed to give assistance to the artigianal’s centre of N’Djamena providing training inside the Footwear Technology Laboratory, created thanks to ICE and in collaboration with the Industrial Ministry of Ciad, ITC and ASSOMAC.  The project for the creation of a laboratory for footwear’s craftmen in N’Djamena was realised on the basis of an agreement signed by the Industry’s Trade Ministry of Ciad and the Economic Development Ministry of Italy, undersigned by the International Trade Centre, ICE and ASSOMAC (Italian Association for ..)  This initiative follows up the “renforcement des capacités national dans la mise en Read more…

RWANDA 2013

“ARTISANS DE LA CHAUSSURE” This project developped the “Leather Community Processing Centre (CPC)”,  built with Italy’s cooperation via PISIE, ICE and ASSOMAC as funders,  that helped boosting up the leather and footwear’s sector in Rwanda.  In 2021 Rwanda and Italy started a tecnical and financial cooperation with the purpose of building, organising and booting a technological laboratory to train the industry of leather and footwear in CPC of Gatsibo, east side of the country. A second CPC in Gatsibo was inaugurated, where italian partners, following guidelines given by the Trade and Industrial Ministry of Ruanda, installed 24 machineries given by PISIE, and funded by ICE.  The new CPC is meant to introduce the advanced technology and Italian expertise to local companies, specifically concerning development and planning, training Read more…

SENEGAL 2010

CLUSTERING FOOTWEAR MANUFACTURERS  Together with CDE of Bruxelles, a training project for a footwear craftmen’s cluster, to improve the production capacity through a mechanical process.  It took roughly a year to apply this process, Italian machines and seven Italian experts where invited on site in 2009.  To benifict from this project where thirty technicians, directors of the companies part of the craftmanship of the metropolian area in Medina of Dakar. The directors on site tutored roughly threehundred footwear’s craftmen of the local system. The project run thanks to microfunding of local istitutions, together with Italian Cooperation.  

INDONESIA 2008

PROGETTO DI FORMAZIONE ALLA “MARANATHA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY (MCU) . FINE ART AND DESIGN FACULTY. INDUSTRIAL DESIGN DEPT. BANDUNG . INDONESIA” The footwear sector of Jawa Barat (West Java) is of relevance in the industrial and manufacturing context in Indonesia, both for the local market and exportation, however, it faces a decline due to competitiveness with Chinese products. The MCU organises design and engineering production courses, in collaboration with entrepreneurs, represented by the national footwear association on site, APRISINDO. PROYECTO ASISTENCIA TECNICA AL SECTOR DEL CUERO PARA ACTIVIDADES DE EXPORTACION The market research of the actual levels of production in Colombia, and the link between European enterpreneurs with Colombia companies taking part in this project to induce communication between the two parts, are the main objectives.    It clearly is a first step to set intervention poins, so that it would be clearer which furthers steps to take in consulting following the markets requests.  Therefore, a detailed analysis on Colombian products, distribution, image and international competitiveness gives the possibility of intervention in inproving bending points and optimising the ones that already present positive aspects.  From this fase, follows the definition of strategies, based on the analysis of answers from the contacts.  This activity is run in Read more…
