This project developped the \u201cLeather Community Processing Centre (CPC)\u201d, built with Italy\u2019s cooperation via PISIE, ICE and ASSOMAC as funders, that helped boosting up the leather and footwear\u2019s sector in Rwanda. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2021 Rwanda and Italy started a tecnical and financial cooperation with the purpose of building, organising and booting a technological laboratory to train the industry of leather and footwear in CPC of Gatsibo, east side of the country. A second CPC in Gatsibo was inaugurated, where italian partners, following guidelines given by the Trade and Industrial Ministry of Ruanda, installed 24 machineries given by PISIE, and funded by ICE. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new CPC is meant to introduce the advanced technology and Italian expertise to local companies, specifically concerning development and planning, training on new production methods and other tecnical and technological services requested by local tanneries and footwear producers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2012 and 2013, CPC was buisy in training local craftsmen in leather manufactures and footwear production, thanks to CDE\u2019s funding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
CPC is used as a window on production, innovation and new technologies. Currently, the centre is run by \u201cStar Leather Company\u201d, which includes Business Development Fund as shareholder and Rwanda Artisans in the leather sector. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
